Miller v. Solaglas changed the windshield installation industry
George Miller was paralyzed when a replacement windshield installed by an after market installer popped out in an accident. The windshield had not been properly bonded to the pickup truck. Following a $6.1 million verdict for Mr. Miller, the Lawyers Weekly described how Jim Gilbert's case changed the practices of the after market windshield installation industry. According to the Lawyers Weekly: "The verdict forced an industry-wide change...." What it meant was that some 12,000 glass installers around the country had to use the safer procedure or risk a similar verdict.
